Moët & Chandon Returns as Formula 1’s Official Champagne in Landmark Partnership

Reviving a Storied Tradition of Champagne and Racing Glory

Formula 1’s iconic podium celebrations are about to get even more spectacular—Moët & Chandon is officially returning as the sport’s Official Champagne, rekindling a decades-long relationship with motorsport. The announcement marks the beginning of a 10-year partnership between F1 and luxury powerhouse LVMH, uniting two legendary forces in speed, precision, and celebration.

Since 1950, Moët & Chandon has been a symbol of victory, with champions like Sir Jackie Stewart, Ayrton Senna, Nikki Lauda, Alain Prost, Mika Häkkinen, and Michael Schumacher all raising a bottle in triumph. Now, the famed Champagne spray will once again grace the F1 podium, sealing unforgettable moments of racing excellence.

A Historic Homecoming at the Belgian Grand Prix

Beyond the podium, Moët & Chandon is set to take on a major role as the Title Partner for the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, a circuit deeply connected to both F1 history and Champagne heritage.

Located in the heart of the Ardennes, Spa-Francorchamps is the closest Grand Prix to the Champagne wine region, making it an iconic homecoming for Moët & Chandon. Known for its challenging corners, unpredictable weather, and breathtaking scenery, Spa is a fan-favorite and a track revered by F1 drivers worldwide.

A Legacy of Motorsport and Celebration

Moët & Chandon’s ties to motorsport date back to 1936, when Tazio Nuvolari celebrated his Vanderbilt Cup victory with a Jeroboam of Moët & Chandon. However, it was in 1967 that the Champagne spray tradition was born—after winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Dan Gurney shook his bottle in a moment of pure elation, forever changing the way champions celebrate.

From the Golden Magnum Trophy of 1977 to the jeroboams signed by F1 greats from 1991 to 1997, Moët & Chandon has remained an essential part of F1’s history.

F1 and Moët & Chandon Celebrate a New Era

F1 President & CEO Stefano Domenicali welcomed the return of the Champagne Maison, stating:

"The tradition of toasting on the podium is one of the most iconic moments in our sport, and we are thrilled to welcome Moët & Chandon once again as the Official Champagne of Formula 1."

Moët & Chandon CEO Sibylle Scherer echoed this excitement:

"We are honored to return as the Official Champagne of Formula 1, celebrating a shared history of triumph and excellence. This partnership is a tribute to the unity and dedication of inspiring drivers, their teams, and the global F1 community. As Moët & Chandon takes its place on the podium once again, we proudly continue to craft moments of celebration for all who are part of this incredible journey."

With this landmark collaboration, Moët & Chandon is set to define a new era of F1 celebrations, bringing its heritage, prestige, and effervescence back to the sport’s most exhilarating moments.
