Mercedes-AMG Unveils the PureSpeed: A Tribute to Motorsport Heritage

Mercedes-AMG

Mercedes-AMG has officially introduced the PureSpeed, an open-top sports car that inaugurates the exclusive Mythos series. Revealed at the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the PureSpeed celebrates Mercedes-Benz's rich motorsport legacy by merging advanced engineering with a daring, roofless design.

Limited to just 250 units, the PureSpeed boasts a radical aesthetic inspired by legendary racing cars. Its sleek silhouette, elongated bonnet, and shark-nosed front end pay homage to the Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar. Aerodynamic enhancements, such as carbon fiber deflectors and rear diffusers, not only elevate its style but also optimize performance. Notably, the traditional A-pillar is replaced by a HALO system—a safety feature derived from Formula 1—adding both protection and visual appeal.

Under the hood, the PureSpeed is equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine that delivers 585 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Coupled with AMG's SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission and 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, it accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in a swift 3.6 seconds, achieving a top speed of 195 mph. The fully open cabin is designed to immerse occupants in the driving experience, allowing them to fully enjoy the engine's roar.

Inside, the cabin features a two-tone crystal white and black color scheme, AMG Performance seats, a custom IWC Schaffhausen analog clock, and a Burmester High-End 3D Surround Sound System. Exclusive helmets with integrated intercom systems ensure seamless communication at high speeds.
