Lady Gaga to Release Two New Albums, Including “Harlequin” Soundtrack for Joker: Folie à Deux
Lady Gaga is set to release not one, but two albums in the coming months. The pop icon recently announced her seventh studio album’s first single, set to drop next month, and surprised fans with the announcement of Harlequin, the soundtrack album for her upcoming film Joker: Folie à Deux, where she stars alongside Joaquin Phoenix.
Harlequin will debut on September 27 and feature 13 tracks, including newly recorded versions of classic songs that appear in the film, such as "That’s Entertainment." Gaga teased the release with a series of cryptic Instagram posts, hinting at the album with phrases like, “I’m ready for my interview” and “No duct tape. No mission,” building anticipation among fans. The mysterious billboard with the number “6.5” has sparked speculation that Harlequin is considered a side project, separate from her main discography, unlike the forthcoming LG7 album.
Joker: Folie à Deux, set to hit theaters on October 4, is described by Gaga as "unlike anything I’ve ever done before." She stars as Lee, a reimagined version of Harley Quinn, in this comic book musical. The soundtrack album will complement the film’s musical elements, offering a unique experience for fans.
In addition to the two albums, Gaga recently collaborated with Bruno Mars on the single "Die With a Smile," although it will not be included in her upcoming LG7 release. The pop sensation has been hard at work on her new album, teasing fans with studio updates featuring collaborators like Grammy-winning producer Andrew Watt, Bloodpop, and Benjamin Rice. Gaga has hinted that LG7 will explore uncharted musical territory, stating, “It’s nothing like anything that I’ve ever made before.”
