Apple Studios Announces Brad Pitt’s Formula 1 Film "F1" Set for 2025 Release
Apple Studios has announced the short-and-sweet title for Brad Pitt’s much-discussed Formula 1 film: F1. The project, which recruits Top Gun: Maverick’s director Joseph Kosinski, writer Ehren Kruger, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer, is scheduled to hit theaters on June 27, 2025.
“The movie stars Pitt as former Formula 1 driver Sonny Hayes, who is lured back to the sport to partner with rookie teammate Joshua Pearce – played by [Damson] Idris – at the fictional APXGP team,” reads an official description. Pitt and Idris star alongside Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo.
Notably, Bruckheimer is producing the project alongside Pitt and seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton.
Filming of the movie has already occurred at real-life F1 events. At last year’s British Grand Prix, Pitt and Idris were seen shooting scenes around England’s Silverstone circuit. While Apple Studios has not shared a production schedule, it’s likely that Pitt and his crew will appear at forthcoming Formula 1 races, too.
Apple did, however, state that a “sneak peek” at the movie can be expected at the Formula 1 British Grand Prix on July 7. The teaser is scheduled to be broadcast on the International Feed just before the race at 2:33 p.m. BST.
